Another year has gone by, well this one was special to say the least but we’re only looking forward now. During these times I always review trends and marketing tactics that have stood out this year, however our content marketing and online advertising avenues have faired well over time. A few changes are in the forecast, but staying the course into the new year is ok for those who have a good content marketing strategy.

Here are a few things to pay attention too.

Invest in Social Media
Stay focused on your local area, and stay relevant on platforms that matter; Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin and YouTube. Post often and deliver content that matters to your audience. Be social and communicate with your followers.

New Changes - Instagram is Leading!
Facebook is continuing to decline users and reach. It is still relevant to maintain good content on Facebook but now is the time to rev up Instagram, and Stories are a must. Of course if you want the most from social media marketing, advertise and build a targeted ad campaign in your market, It works!

Send Quality Emails
If you don’t already collect customer emails, start doing it immediately! I’ve been banging on the table about this for many years. Email marketing allows you to nurture both existing and prospective customers to keep your business at the top of their minds. Not everyone is on social media and email can personalize your business with your customers. Try new automation email marketing to keep the messages going for those who open and read your emails

Time to be Heard
Yes, start a podcast which is still trending as the new form of content marketing. Audio is becoming an increasingly bigger part of our daily lives, and it’s a great way to reach customers locally in your community. Try Anchor.fm to create a free Podcast channel and share your voice. Sell or teach your audience something. This will grow your brand awareness.

Don’t Underestimate Word of Mouth, Collaborate with Your Neighbors

As a result of the challenges we’ve all faced this year, more people have a renewed sense of connection to their community and want to support local businesses. Your customers are your best marketing tool. Stay connect to your existing customers and ask for reviews and feedback.

Wishing you the best in 2021.
